If in a traditional orthodox society/culture, family objection is natural. Since the family does not like the guy, means the family knows about the affair and might be having some reservations about the guy. One should try to find out the reasons for the disliking. If reasons are genuine, family opinion does carry weight and should be considered honestly (using brain and not heart). If the reasons cited by the family are frivolous, try to convince/present your viewpoint or else go ahead with the relationship in the right earnest.

well your family wudnt dislike that person without a reason !
try to find out why they dont like him and if you think its a gud enuff reason and if u agree you should take your time before you get into a long term commitment with tat person !
or else mayb you should wait for your family to accept him ........give them time .....once they get to know him and trust your decision they might accept him !
one thing is that if you are financially independant they wont be able to do much interms of stopping you from being with this person !
as long as you are dependant on your family for monetary funda they may try to be a bit stubborn about it !
make sure that they know you are capable of handling and taking care of yourself !
they will accept your decision then !
take care
all the best

try to convince your family for your boths relationship and at the same time try to tell your partner to improve as there must be some reason for what your family is not liking him. tell your partner to develop himself in a way in which your family accepts him and if he gets improved up ,,then i guess your family will not have any problem for your relationship. just try to convince them continuously. i will never suggest you to leave him if you love him and take your family side,,its because if you will leave him and then will get married to other guy then it would be just a mere sacrifice and more over by this you will not be able to forget your beloved and this will affect your marriage life. you will not only play with your husbands life but also with your boyfrnds life too. and along with it you will affect yours owns life and also of your family and your husbands family members. so i will not suggest you to take any ones side. just try to make both sides better. and stil if your family dont listen then dont marry your boyfriend but at the same time dont marry anyone. it sounds tough but beleive me you will be with him if you do so,as your family will be happy if you will be happy, so dnt waste time and start convincind them.

Try to get to the bottom of why they dislike him. There is likely a very good reason, and your hormones will lead you down the garden path if you choose to ignore well meaning advice.
