Which is better to enrich the vocabulary?

Question

to read thick books whether adventure, science fictions, etc. or to read the dictionary itself and list the words? for me, i think it's the second one because reading is not my type.. but i do read when i don't have any other thing to do..
note: don't answer with ignorance, i just loathe ignoramus people who answer like they're dumb morons..

Reading books, I find helps people to incorporate words that they've learned into every-day conversations. When you hear how a word is used or read how someone else has used the word, you then know how to use the word. Reading the dictionary is a great way of learning new vocabulary words but you end up cramming so many words into your brain, you may not remember them.

i think that reading the dictionary is a better way to improve the vocabulary as you get the new words and the meanings and hence can use the words you learn properly

Read the dictionary, then you know what the vocabulary meaning of the words are, sometimes in novels they miss use words.

Watch movies instead of reading books, then, and keep the dictionary at hand, that'll allow you to catch words in context (which is very important but not really provided in dictionaries) and react quickly and learn them when you will remember them, because they're important at that time.
