I think a made up insult would hurt more. Because you know that it's not true so you get pretty upset at the person who made it.

Whether the insult is made up or true, it doesn't matter.During an insult your heart breaks.If the insult was made up, the people who witnessed it would never come to know the truth.
But I would say that innocence is never getting hurt.Put up your bravest self and face.Think positive.Don't let anyone drag you down.Don't get hurt.Instead do something great,show the world and shut their mouths.

insults hurt more if they are true.. especially when it comes from a person whom you trusted.. an insult which is just made up can easily be ignored because it isn't true and they have no evidence to prove that or something..

For me it hurts more if it's made up, but I know that some people are going to do things like that because of what they perceive to be true. I just try to take things as they are and remember who I am and what the people I love will say about me.

Hidden truths that one is in denial about hurt more than any unfounded insult.
Wasn't there a saying that "the truth hurts more that any lie"?
I guess its only the unwelcome truths that can be used to hurt and not the truths that are sought or desired.
