256 MB DDR3 running @ 256bit is good enough. But if u want 2 play at higher resolution & with all possible eyecandies on.. then go 4 512 MB DDR3 or DDR4 with 256/512bit.
And remember ur graphics chipset is also more liable to tune games smoother. ATI X600 or Geforce 6600 is capaple 2 run modern games.. but in lower resolution & less details.
