Rabbit Biology

Skin - Female rabbits possess a large fold of skin under the chin known as the dewlap, from which they pull hair to line the nest before kindling. The toes and metatarsal areas are completely covered with hair, and there are no footpads. Scent glands are located on the underside of the chin, either side of the perineum (inguinal glands) and at the anus (anal glands). The inguinal glands are large and pouch-like and often contain a yellow/brown oily deposit.

Rabbits have scent glands under their chin and by their anus and use both to mark their territory. Ours will chin everything when they go to a new space. They can scent their fecal pellets as a way to mark their territory too.

no the rabbits scent glands are not on it's chin the rabbits scent check out the pictures that i have found on the internet. about scent glands. i hoped that i helped you

I don't know but I know why you are asking. My rabbit is a male, and rubs his chin on whatever he feels is worthy enough I guess!! It's not everything, but only some things.

Yes I think so. My 3 do it all the time. I let the male out , he does it, and then the females, and they do it, after doing the scenting thing.. then they romp and play !
