I don't really think it works that way, but the other way around. That is to say, a person's character and personality influences his/her musical taste.

no, and I don't think the opp. is true either. A true lover of music can find something to like about any kind of music regardless of thier character or personality.

agrees with bright eye..the personality and the different moods one is in ,actually influences the kind of music one would wanna listen to.

i agree that the kind of person you are influences the type of music you listen to. but at the same token, the music you like to listen to illuminates who you are and your personality.
