You can if you need a laxative.

It is generally used for soaking, if you ingest it, it will act as a laxative, and if you take too much it can become very uncomfortable. (and depending on how hydrated you are) dangerious

Read the container, it'll tell you if it's eatable or not.
Doesn't sound good though.
