When we draw a circle with a compass, we keep the angle between the two legs constant.
A ray from the top most point on the rainbow to our eye makes an angle to the horizontal direction. Theory says this angle is a constant.
Imagine the ray as one leg of long compass and the horizontal direction as another leg which points the center. Keeping the angle constant when the compass is rotated an arc is formed.
If we go high up we can see the whole circle.

The rainbow looks as an arch because of the fact the sunlight's rays enter the water droplets which acts as a prism. whilst the rays bypass via this organic prism refraction occurs.it particularly is why Rainbow is seen in arch shape.

I beg to differ.. rainbows are more complex than just light reflection... Firstly why the different sizes in arcing.. sometimes rainbows are small.. other times they span across the whole sky.. also the perfect colouring.. Culturally for me rainbows have more signifcance than just reflection.. anyway.. i think theres is more to it.

Buy a prism and look into it. The light bends slightly. Multiple the prisms by hundreds of thousands to millions, and you'll eventually have a curved light. It's how the light refracts off the curved droplet of water.
