I'm 21 years old girl, and have been looking for work since 17 , and I went college got rejected by many places
the only place I managed to get a job was where I was studying but that was hard and I went college , but I look for a part time job and I can't get any job , I have tired every where
I'm so suprised that some people that I know don't even have experienced and they get jobs so quickly so why can't I , this boy at college always smoked and missed his lesson but he end up having a job at this clothes shop, where I even applied , I asked him how he got he said he just filled out a form and got the job, then I see this girl, and she doesnt have experience and see got the job, many people that I knew worked for sainsbury boots , and I have never been expected by any company I just dont' know what to do
my plan however is to do a courses and after I complete I might just be able to get a nice job, is this a good idea to carry on studying perhaps as I have no job

often it is confidence, and presentation and timing. Make sure you present yourself nicely, good hygiene - be confident when asking for application forms / having interviews - polite and make sure you smile alot.
Sort your C.V out - make it look better
Why not volunteer in your chosen profession - to get experience - e.g in a nursery school volunteer a few hours a week for a month or so - all adds to your C.V and you end up with referees (as long as you ask them)

Eye contact and perception are vital. Psychologists know it takes someone 15 seconds to decide if they want to hire you or not so a big front is important. Smile and maintain a few seconds of eye contact every few seconds . Many ppl do not get on with ppl and can never work out why, it is often to do with body language and non verbal communication. If you really dont want the job, your body language will give this away and any potential employer will pick up on this. It is even possible for this to come over in hand writing. Therefore to increase your success rate, only ever apply for jobs you really really want, not just those you think you might get
good luck

You are certainly not on your own, many young folk cant get work, part time or full time.
At least you are trying and also studying, I suppose it's only natural to have a loss of self confidence after being rejected a few times, but keep at it.
One other thing, you seem a bit haphazard about what you are studying for? You need an aim in life, work out exactly what it is you want to work at, and go for the right courses but whatever don't give up ! And good luck.

I was like this long long ago. In the end I realised I had a problem, that no one would tell me about, because they were not really aware of it, they were embarrased or whatnot.... Idiots !
Anyway.....
I spent some time soul-searching and looking hard at myself and realised that I am in fact not a naturally attractive person, and although I have a good personalty, I do not have much in the way of social skills, and i had (still have ?) no sense of fashion whatsoever. The lack of perfect looks, and the lack of social ability and the total fashio disater that was my wardrobe plagued me untill I found a way to beat each issue.
I spent a lot of time and effort creating my own style, a style that suited me and fitted in to a non mianstream, but at least contemporary fashion area, then I forced myself to go out and talk to people (I had become very insular after 4 yrs in boarding school). Once I made a few friends, and didnt look so out of place or awkward anymore, things began to fall into place.
It didnt happen overnight, it was a low proscess, but although it took lots of courage and effort... It paid off in the end.

Either you're just having a string of bad luck, in which case you keep trying and eventually you'll get the job you're looking for or, there's something about your approach that's missing: Does your college have a carreer guidance center? Or try an employment agency. Either one, if they're competent, will assist you in all aspects of getting your job, from writing a resume--to getting the interview--to presenting yourself properly--to following up second, third and even fourth times.
If the agency doesn't do that for you find another one.
Good Luck!

it could be interview technique. Your college should have someone who could help with that. Or get a friend to interview you for your dream job and asses how you came accross.
Don't give up looking I had 8 years out of hte workforce due to ill health but was able to study part time. After completing my degree i got really down because of the rejection letters but i got something in the end.

Good written and verbal English communication skills are crucial in getting hired. From reading your question, I assume you speak English as a second language. Your grammar and spelling are not up to par for most jobs. In fact, it's quite shameful that you have a college education and still have not gotten the basics down.
I would suggest taking some intensive English classes. Presentation is everything. People assume if you write poorly, you think poorly. Similarly, if you write well, you think well.
There are too many things out of your control in performing a job search. You can't control what jobs are available. You can't control who else applies for them. The only thing you can control is yourself, your skills, your presentation. Make it the very best you can and you will have solved a large part of the puzzle.

to be honest it often happens like that but if you are doing all the right things then you should be employed by now. Go to your local job centre and they will make a time for you to go in and chat with you and they will look at your cv and say if there is anything you can do to improve it and give you some advice with interview techniques if you need them and hlp you search for jobs. Good luck.

I had the same issue when i was applying for my first job. The best thing you can do is apply to company's for voluntary work. You can choose how often you work and the companies love free employees! The best thing is tho, you can still look for work whilst doing it, but you're gaining that experience that everybody wants you to have. It will all go on your CV and looks great to future employers. Good Luck!
