The chips set's like The brain or the main core for a motherboard.

There're alot of motherboard type with the same chipset. The difference in those motherboards're the size, The slots, the memory capacity, the sound attached, etc.

The Chipset,'s set to controll the everthing on the mainboard, such as BUS, Sound, Processor, Memory, IDE, SATA, Etc.

Hi,

The main defference in Intel Original Motherboards and Chipset Motherboards is..........

When a motherboard (All Components i.e. Circuit Board, ICs etc.) made by Intel, This is called Intel Original Motherboard. The performance of this motherboard is too good........
When a motherboard manufactured by some other companies i.e. D-Link, Mercury, using the chip-sets of Intel, this is called Chipset Motherboard. Performance of these motherboards is also good, but some features are disabled...........And the price of Original motherboard is so high...........

The two main chips on the Intel motherboard are called the Northbridge chip and the Southbridge chip. They are integrated circuits designed to work together to make your computer work. Intel calls these two chips the chipset. The motherboard contains the chipset and other circuitry for all sorts of computer purposes -- to make your peripherals and drives and memory and sound and graphics display come alive.
