I'm a transsexual, and no matter what I do, it's not right. If you want proof, just look at some of the answers to my questions about the topic on yahoo answers. All I get is negativity, hate, biotry, ignorance, and disgust. I have people trying to play God with my life telling me what I'm doing wrong, or what I SHOULD be doing instead. I can't find a partner who is willing to date me. Employment is difficult, I've lost friends and family. People who have seemed interested in me, I've come to find out later, only wanted to try to fulfill some kind of sexual fetish curiosity with me. No one sees me as a person, with feelings. I feel used by everyone I come in contact with. That people don't like me for who I am, they only like me for what I can do for them, or anything deep about me is disregarded because I'm just a "freak". I'm tired of this...my brain and my heart hurts, and can take no more. I'm seriously on the brink of just ending it. Why do people have to be so cruel?

You are focusing too much on what other people think of you. You have made the decisions you needed to make to fulfill yourself. Spend quality time with yourself. Read, laugh, grow, enjoy the company of pets, volunteer, work, listen to music. You are needed here on earth.

People are cruel to everyone, not just those who are "different," but being different does make life more difficult. Join a LGBT group, either in your community or online and share experiences with others who have had a similar life. A Google search will bring back tons of responses.

You know this, but who you are isn't what you look like, what genitals you have, or who you love. Take a break from relationships and focus on making yourself happy using your greatest resource: Yourself.

BTW, this advice applies to everyone, you know. Not just the transgendered or gay or disabled or whatever.

One more thing: I'd like to suggest that you read "She's Not There" by Jenny Finney Boylan, who is a very prominent author and professor at a college in the town where I live. She's wonderful, a transsexual, and a very wise woman. Good luck!

Rebecca's right you know, don't focus too much on what people think, being a Transsexual myself my attitude is F*** what people think. You should be proud of yourself for being able to stand up to the world and saying this is who i am. I have also lost Friends, family, a 14 yr relationship and the whole life that came with it, I've been used by people who think I'm a soft touch to meet their own financial benefits and as a self employed person work can be a real struggle sometimes, but when i sit back and evaluate just how far I've come in the twelve months since loosing everything, it amazes me just how strong of a person i am. Life is lonely sometimes, but ending it isn't the way forward, your worth a lot more than that hon and by no means are you a freak, that's just nonsense talk. so come on pull your finger out your ***, hold your head up high and bollox to what everybody else thinks your the one that counts.

Gee freakin' wizz dude.
Quit complaining. You think you have it tough? Get over it and figure out a path for your life that you enjoy every day.
Identify what, who, where and when, you are afflicted with this pain.....and change it.
Move to a new city. Meet new people. Make new friends. You've GOT to have some social skills. You're NOT the only freaking transsexual on the planet! You are uniquely beautiful. (unless you're a jerk)
Ending it all would make you a pathetic, loser, piece of crap.
I don't care if you're transgendered, transsexual, trans-pa-doodie, translecticon, or trans-hoop-de poopie.....you only get one chance to have a good time in this world. You may be different but at least you don't have a d1ck on your forehead like all those who give you a hard time. Change things and move on dude! Don't be a pu$$y and "end it". That's too easy. If life was easy for everybody....we'd ALL have d1cks growing from our foreheads.

What it all comes down to is how you feel about yourself. If you are transexual you have to be prepared to deal with ignorance. This is a part of life, and as horrible as it may seem it should make you a stronger person. Stand up for yourself, and get a grip. Life is never easy for anyone, and everyone at some point faces ridicule for what decisions they make. Part of being different is excepting that you will have to learn to educate those who are around you. If they don't listen well you don't have to take it, and move on. Are there any support groups in your area? I know in my area they have transgender support groups. This might be a good option for you so you can be around people that are going through the same thing.

While I can't tell you why YOU should keep living (because life is great and fun - that should be enough from my view), I can tell you that not all people are cruel, and, besides, are others' attitudes SO important? As for those whom you have lost because of being who you are, good riddance. Most relationships in everyne's life are based on interest (i.e., "what I can do for them"), that's why people say that true friends are few and all such stuff - it's not just words. But we all roll on, looking forward to meeting such few people and, even if we don't find them, just enjoying the hope of meeting them. Furthermore, you are certainly not the only person with such a story - why not do something to help others who might feel that way? Turn your story into your victory and make it easier for others and for yourself. Asking questions here is risky, this place is infested with newborn Christian and/or republican facist retards who conceal their own moral and mental hideousness behind moralizing to others, so better search for contacts in other places, gay communities/web-sites and such. I just hope those Christian fascist pigs won't remove my response before you read it.

People who are cruel are taught to be like that...carefully taught....Only you are responsible for your own happiness and only you can create it...who cares what others think?
Yes, I imagine you have had employment problems and lost friends and family and have had trouble with dating people..Not too much I can say to gloss over that. Maybe you could use some professional help...not because I think that you're crazy--far from it---but sometimes just talking to someone in person can really help. Suicide really isn't an option....there is no choice or chance after that act...Maybe you are just poor at judging who you are hanging around with...maybe you need better friends. You definitely need to like yourself more. Good Luck --and I mean that!

dearest child be not discouraged, for behold god is love the ones out there telling you that you are wrong are not doing the work of OUR FATHER. He told us to LOVE one another not be hateful and cruel to one another just because we are gay does not mean that he doesnt love us .. Second....people are cruel there is no getting around that...but you cannot let people push your buttons and allow them to hurt you cause some people just get off on that kind of thing. that person you are looking for is out there im sure. we all have so much to live for. i read your other questions you seem to be very witty i really like the slow children playing one ....here's one for ya when you see an no outlet sign in a cul-de-sac does that mean these people cant get any electicity, E-LEC-TRIC-I-TY . AND REMEMBER .....just because other people are cruel doesnt mean everybody is please feel free to email me if you would like to talk more about this .

As a TS myself, you previously lived for other people.

Now that you're starting transition, you're living for yourself. It's going to be a rough ride. Employment and relationships will be tough - but is it worth it to disregard who you really are for other people?

Some people are cruel, but so what? Most people aren't worth my giving them the time of day.
