Cut and paste folders to the new drive. Better method than dragging. With dragging you can drop the file and it disappears into a file you have no idea where it went. You can do this with files but not for executable programs. With executable programs you can save the setup.exe file on your storage drive. That way you have a back up and if needed you can install the program again. At the top of any file or website you open up you will see File, Edit, View, etc. Under Edit you will find the cut, copy and paste functions. Cut actually removes the file and paste puts it in the new drive. Copy leaves the file in the original drive and paste puts a copy in the new drive. Find a computer literate friend. That is better than trying to get it on line.

Buy a USB Harddisk adapter
install the harddisk in the adapter
plug in the wall wart for the adapter
plug the USB cable into your laptop
Load the drivers
copy your files from the laptop to your new "USB harddisk"
