You're probably thinking of Amazing Grace since that tune is often requested for funerals. There are many others that are played..Flowers of the Forrest, Scottish Soldier (aka Green Hills of Tyrol), and others. I sometimes play Glengarry's Lament (Piobreachd) leading the casket to the gravesite.

At my fathers funeral and although he wasn't a policeman but in the army - he had wanted Scotland the Brave played - don't know if they do the same for policemen. Amazing Grace as well.
It was played by a lone piper up on a hill away from us - quite moving for my mother.

seems like they play different songs for that:
"Randy Daley, Cleveland patrolman and honor guard bagpiper, played a stately medley for the crowd, which stood silent amid the roar of buses and cars. His songs included "Minstrel Boy/Weary of the Year," "Skye Boat Song" and "Scotland the Brave."
