By far the simplest is to make it out of pipe. I've seen this done many times. Use the connections for plumbing (elbows and tees) to build a free-standing barre.
You could even look up "speed rail" for finding parts as well.
In our studio we have, 1 1/2" (or close to) round wood stock, a big dowel -- there is a simple plate made out of 3/4" plywood that is vertical attached to a plate of the same material. Then that plate is screwed into the wall. It's been up for 35 years!

Well you have to findthe studs in the wall so it support the weight of the dancer's. The bar should be wood and have a bracket attached to the wall about every five or so feet.
You can get the round wood for the bar and the brackets at Home Depot

go to any woodworking /carpentry/ hardware store in your area and ask for a wooden pole about the size off your wrist in diameter and as long as you feel you need, like what would fit on the wall where you want to install it, or about 3 yards long.. You can put it up with little brass shelf hangers and you can put up a pretty little full length mirror behind it...

well, you could go to a hardware store and get a thick, and long enough peice of wood and sand it into a circle rub some paint on it and hang it up...AND DANCE!

you could probally make one wiht like just a wooden hand railing that they sell at home depot or lowes.
