Java and javascript are not the same thing. The cup shows that Java is being used by an application or web page. You can hide the icon (right click and Hide Icon. It will still work normally.

it just tells u wen a website or program is running java (java is wat we computer geeks call a "runtime environment" wich some programs use to run for example yahoo games runs using java) u dont need 2 worry its not a virus or spyware or anything, also the console is just used 2 configure the options for how the program runs, nothing that wud rele interest u. so just leave the little cup there, or if u dont like it for some reason right click on it and click hide (the actual program or website wont b affected tho)

Its just a Java icon to notify you that the application is currently running. I like having mine there it cool having coffee on your desktop that wont make it burn out hehe. But Java is needed to run certain webpages which require Java or Another media format to view the page any other questions ill be happy to answwer :)
