Fingers are tough because you are constantly using them. Try aleve, or generic Naproxin Sodium, pretty good pain killer, Also try Active On, from the makers of Head On, apply directly where it hurts.

orry but icing is perhaps the best thing for it right now. as long as you're sure it's not a fracture, you can try to buddy tape it tot he next finger for a brief period of time to more or less protect it but you should range it to 1)keep the swelling down and 2) to keep the joint fluid in movement. th eimport things are to keep the swelling down and to move it.. you can make your own ice packs by mixing ribbing alcohol and water in a zip lock bag.. usually a 2:1 mixture but you can adjust it to the consistency you prefer.. as long as your sure it's not a fracture, it should feel better in a few days.. good luck..

Try using a portion of an aloevera plant and rub on your finger often. You can also use it to stop pain from a burn. You can buy it in liquid form but it doesn't work as good as using a live aloevera plant.

Doctors recommend RICE: rest, ice, compression and elevation. Other than that, just time.

One thing you can do is distract yourself -- watch a funny TV show, or cruise some funny websites. (-: They also say that laughter is the best medicine!

Strap it up and rest it, try not to use it for at least the next few days, unfortunately only time heals injuries such as this, and the next time you're told to leave the cookie jar alone...LEAVE IT ALONE!!!

wrap it up nice and tight, that will stop the pain, but you will have a finger that is out of commission for a few days.
