I was recently diagnosed with Endometriosis after having my son 9 months ago. I am trying to loose the extra weight (about 10 lbs. left), and I am normally doubled over in pain. My biggest concern is there are alot of health problems in my family. I want to stay healthy and active. Any advice on workouts, or to help with the pain?

You REALLY need to talk to your ob/gyn about this.

I mean seriously, right off the bat here...you say endometriosis and get a response about your period.

Seriously, talk to them.

FYI peoples, with endometriosis the pain can start well before the menstrual cycle. Also what many do not consider is that the menstrual cycle is comprised of three phases, where the "period" is considered the menstural phase (after the proliferative and secretory phases).

All up it's a month long process and the pain from endometrisos can exsist well before that time of the "period" in some who suffer from endometriosis.

Again I suggest that you contact your gynecologist about this. Regardless of what anyone says here, it's the prudent thing to do. They can give you options, and are best qualified for such advice.

I have Endometriosis and I know the feeling. I try to not workout during my period. It makes it worse on me. The pain is so bad all I want to do is stay in bed. I always talked to my doctor about it and that is what you need to do. They can give you a sheet telling you what to avoid. Good Luck
