ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Feeder goldfish aka comets or commons, NEED 20 gallons PER fish atleast for a baby -juvenile. Adults will need ATLEAST 50 gallons PER fish because they get 12-14 inches. They also have a lifespan of 30 yrs and need ALOT of filtration and regular partial waterchanges are an absolute must since all goldfish excrete alot of ammonia. They do not grow to the size of their environment. The outside stops growing but the insides continue to grow, killing the fish.

particularly of having them a bigger tank whilst they're older, why do no longer you get them one now? As reported before, worry-unfastened "feeder" goldfish, ex. comets, improve into 14" and prefer a minimum of a seventy 5 gallon tank, or a pond (one hundred forty gallon) in the event that they're the flowery type (oranda's, rycan(spelling?) and so on) then they like a bare minimum of 30 gallons for a million goldfish, and 10 gallons for each further. in the event that they're purely 3 months (no longer 3 months on account that to procure it, yet 3 months on account that they have been born) it would be okay to maintain then a 5 gallon for not extra then a month longer, then i might right now improve to a 40+ (for "fancies") or seventy 5+ for feeder/worry-unfastened/shubunkin/comets. in case you prefer to pass to a 20, then 40, then 50 and so on... you ought to even with the indisputable fact that it would be plenty extra costly.

yes unless they get bigger. The size for goldfish is 2 gallons per 1 inch of fish. Goldfish are the most pollutant fish. If not goldfish than its 1 gallon for 1 inch of fish

No
Goldfish need 10 gallons all to themselves. It has to do with oxygen exchange in their gills and not filtration of waste and an air stone won't help.
Goldfish are messy too. They also grow. Those small fish will out grow the tank in just a few months.
Get a bigger tank, or smaller fish. A betta or guppies will be very happy in that size tank.
Good luck

supossedly goldfish need ten gallons per fish because goldfish are so messy. You could probably get away with two goldfish in a ten gallon tank, but i wouldnt crowd it anymore than that

Yes.
To ensure healthy fish and a good environment, follow these steps.
Set up the tank in the location you want to- Its very difficult to move tanks once they are already full of gravel and water.. 5 gallons of water weighs quite alot.
When you put fill it with water-using a bucket or a hose, put a plate inside the tank so that the water doesn splash and ruin your rock formations.
Add chlorine remover / water conditioner such as the ones made by Tetra, I always recommend using Kordon Amquel since it even removes unwanted nitrites from the water that are harmful to the fish.
Start up your filter, add Bacteria Culture such as biospira or some other products that petstores sell- this is to start your biological filter in the tank. Put a very small amount of food in the tank.
KEEP THE TANK RUNNING FOR ATLEAST 5 DAYS BEFORE YOU ADD FISH.
The day you are going to add the fish, do a water change- remove a quarter of the water from the tank and put in fresh water (treated with chlorine remover/amquel).
Then add the fish- a five gallon tank should be able to keep 3 feeder gold fish.. but add fish one at a time so that you dont shock the water from all the sudden chemical changes caused by fish waste.

If you're using them immediately and not breeding them? Probably. If you want to keep them longer, I would suggest a larger tank. Goldfish are notorious for producing a lot of waste really quickly, and they'll probably die shortly in a tank that small. They need ten gallons or above.
