According to the most recent (2003) APA salary survey, clinical psychologists make about $75,000 per year. Research psychologists make between $78,000 and $95,000 per year. School psychologists make an average of $78,000.
Industrial-organizational psychologists make an average of $130,059 (this number is misleading..there were a lot of outliers).

To become a psychologist, you need to complete 4 years of undergraduate studies, 4 years of graduate school (with practicum experience), 1 year of predoctoral internship, a dissertation, and 1 year of postdoctoral work.

Psychologists in private practice must have a Master Degree, which will take 4 years of college than about a year and half for the Masters.

They charge anywhere from $75 per hour up, mostly UP.

It's pretty much impossible to get a good job in psychology without a masters degree at the minimum.

It's the same with being a Social Worker, only psychology pays more as you can work independently... but you really need a Phd for the big bucks.

Salary is tough, because it depends on the area and specialty, however without a masters degree you won't even get a foot in the door.
