just get new strings. even wal- mart sells them. Decent strings arent that expensive and if you bring your guitar to a music store, they can change them for you at little or no cost. you should change strings often anyway to avoid buildup. Old strings can distort the true sound of your guitar, plus they slip out of tune faster.

buy new ones? it's prolly a better idea to buy some new strings if you have to deal with rust problems on your old ones.
