What causes this noise?? Any time day or night I always heat my windows make a noise. You know the scary kind like in the movies. Theres always a cold draft!

You have air leaks around the edges of the glass.. use a little plumbers putty, caulking, etc, go around the suspected edges and try it, it'll work.

Single pane windows have nothing to do with it. Any windows will make that noise if they don't shut tightly enough or have not been hung properly. Make sure they are always locked when you close them, that could help the problem.

Are you ready for this?? I LOVE that noise. I purposely try and make my windows do that. You think I am a sick, crazy person huh? Seriously, I do love it.

You must have single pane windows. Double pane windows will resolve your problem! the insulated air between the panes helps hold heat/or cold in, depending on the time of year, and there will be no rattling once they are installed. It is expensive, but you will make up for it in savings on your heating bill. Good luck!

caulk your windows..it is leaking air..it insulates your home.
