I have a maths question is there anyone that can help it is related to division by factors?

Ei I have the following sum 1028 division 16 This has to be to division by factors

and
16 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2

1028 / 16 = 2 * 2 * 257 / (2 * 2 * 2 * 2)

There is a common factor of 2 * 2 = 4
which can be divided out from both
numerator and denominator.

This leaves 1028 / 16 = 257 / 4.
There are no more common factors.

It would be real nice if it were 1024/16! So let's split it up...
1028/16 = 1024/16 + 4/16
1024 = 2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2
16 = 2*2*2*2
4 = 2*2

2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2*2 / 2*2*2*2 + 2*2 / 2*2*2*2 =
2*2*2*2*2*2 + 1/2*2 =
64 + 1/4
