The most commonly known brands are Nokia, Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson but these phones have only got so well known by a bit of trial and error on everyones part. When looking to purhcase a phone, look at the type of features you would be interested in ie, camera, video camera, mms etc and see which one gives you the best deal and that appeals to you. Just about every phone made now has the basic camera, video camera, mms etc so if you werent into feature specific I would go for one that looks funky and cool!!!

There really isnt a best brand. Nokia, Sony, Ericsson, Motorola and a couple others make good phones. You should pay more attetion to options and features then brand name.

nokia is better than all other manufacturers when it comes to grabbing a signal and holding on to it, durability, and reliabilty. not personal opinion i work in the wireless industry. whenever a customer lives in an area where coverage is sketchy a nokia is ALWAYS recommended.
