When did she first start her period? Periods are usually irregular the first year.
Ask her if she's stressing, or if there's a change in her diet.

Your family doc or gyno might want to do an exam. That doesn't mean that the exam will spoil her virginity. The PAP smear is a test for cervical cancer and most likely would not indicate any reasons for her irregular period. I didn't start my period until I was almost 16. If you're really worried, talk to your doc. but if I were you I would wait a while, just so that your daughter doesn't get freaked out by the doc.

It is normal to have an irregular periods during puberty.
You don't need to have a pap smear if you are a virgin. Pap smear is a screening test for cervical cancer. This disease is caused by a type of sexually transmitted virus. Doctors recommend that you start to test after you become sexually active.
I still recommend that you take your daughter to your family doctor and ask him all about it. Your doctor will not perform a vaginal exam if you tell him that your daughter is a virgin.

No, a papsmear will not brake her virgity. They just take a little swab from the wall of the vagina. They dont tear anything where it matters so dont be to concerned about that. Has she been moving great distances? Different parts of the world can affect a persons period. Another very important thing is that when a young girls starts her period it more then likely be very irregular I had friends who would skip 3 months at a time. Her body is just starting to get used to the whole Idea. Another thng is diet...Has she lost alot of weight recently? Worst case sinario..Is she maybe pregnant. Maybe get her to go with you to a health nurse and they usually re-assure parents and young girl teens. Dont worry..as far as I am concerned everything is happening normally and naturally.

Her body is still adjusting to having a cycle. It may take well over a year before her cycles become regular. Since she is not sexually active and not 18 there is no reason for her to have a pap smear. She does not need to see a doc just because her periods are not regular yet. Give it a year or so as this is normal to not be regular right away.

At that age, 6 weeks is nothing to worry about... if you're SURE she's not having sex. Irregular periods are very normal for young teenagers.
It is possible for a virgin to have a gynecological exam. They probably have a slimmer speculum. I'm not sure how they do it, really. But I really think you're worrying over nothing. Wait a while.

she most likely does not need a pap smear. I doubt a doctor would perform one, because a pap smear is a test for HPV......they might do a pelvic exam, to look 'down there'....otherwise, they might just tell you it's normal because she is so young or do lab work.
take care.

She is not to young and putting her on birth control(even if she is not having sex) is one way to regulate periods.
