I am so sick and tired of celebrities being treated like they mean something! They sure aren't discovering a cure for cancer or anything worthwhile. Just think of the good all of the millions spent on this Italian debacle could do. It makes me sick.! Celebs and sports stars are paid entirely too much for what they do and although I know that some do good deeds with it, it's still shocking about the waste. Who else can give me some reasonable thoughts on this?

The reason they get all of this attention is because fans and people love it. People just eat it up. These are the people who watches entertainment tonight, gets the latest celeb scoop magazines, etc...People enjoy the glamorous lifestyles of celebrities. That doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with them, or they don't have a life, it's just an interest. Like people who are a big football fan, they make sure they don't miss a game or anything! It's just how people are. Back to the question, I got off base...the reason they get all this attention, is because of these particular people. This is where the good money comes in for them. Just think about it...if noone showed an interest and didn't care, do you think they'd advertise it and show it so much? No. But, they know that people do, and it sells. That's just how it goes.

So, Tom and Kate just got married. So what? This marriage is not even legal. The whole star system makes me sick sometimes, especially when the "celebrities" are useless persons that happened to take their clothes off for a stupid magazine.
Serious actors, singers etc deserve our attention but things like Tom and Kate should not be in the news. But it's so typical: We talk about Paris and Nicol and at the same time people are killed around the world, kids die of hunger and Earth sends SOS that no one listens to.

How long can the brainwashing, um I mean marriage last? Tom will probably flip out sooner or later and start climbing trees like Michael Jackson. Maybe Katie will fall, hit her head and snap out of it.
People love stars and want to know about the details of their lives. The media only covers what people want to see, because that will make them the most money. But yeah nowadays any celebrity event is given far too much attention from the media.

Count me in. I was sick of the media circus surrounding them when they first started dating. Surely the media has anything better to document.
What is equally sickening is the praise and perks that this incredibly gullible village is giving them, solely for their fame.
It's Hollywood so it won't last. Why he "deserves" all this attention in the first place when he is well past washed up and psychotic is beyond me.

Moi. I agree with you, all the media hype is sickening. And if you really think about it, shouldn't they have gotten married first before having the baby?? (with apologies to the kid) But just saying that, it's a bad example for the younger generation, like they're saying "Oh yeah, we had a baby first and that's good, follow what we do!"

Yeah, I'm sick of it! TomKat will stay married for about 6mos and will divorce... it's not going to last. Hollywood doesn't take marriage seriously.

Yes, I agree. Everyone should stop watching Entertainment Tonight, Extra and these type of shows.
Also don't buy any of the magazines.

I didn't think of it that way. What passed through my mind though is he sure is going to extremes in deny his homosexuality if the media is to be believed. They made references to it again on MSNBC again the other night.
