You're joking about the "concrete and certain evidence", right?

Ultimately the truth lies within each of us. (i.e any rationale or proof will be more implicit than explicit,.....or is it more inductive rather than deductive?....anyhoo....)

Let's call the two groups scientists and believers.

The challenge for believers is that proof for God's existence will never show up on a spreadsheet or be proven by a supercomputer, so ultimately believers can't scientifically prove that he does exist.

On the other hand, being God (omniscient, omnipresent, omni-yada-yada, etc.) he could and would be behind everything. So scientists can't prove that he didn't set up all of this (big bang, quantum mechanics, etc.)

So there ya go. Don't plan on finding the answer in a textbook or the bible, but read both. Ultimately the answer lies within you.

To me the more interesting question is can you believe in God and science at the same time?

I personally kinda like the idea of bringing some faith to the scientists and bringing some science to faithful

Peace.

You can prove God exists through the use of reason(just look at the Modal Ontological Proof modeled after the first Ontological proof proposed by St. Anselm of Canterbury(which up until now has not(and perhaps cannot) been proven incorrect)) but doing so may not do us as much good as we think. The problem is in the fundamental differences of the 2 arguing sides of the issue. There is the one side, that believes based on faith and asks for faith alone and not reason/proof. Then there is the side that will only believe if reason supports believing(yes I understand that the sides are much more complicated than I am showing them to be).

So while proving his existence quells the arguments from the non-believers(current) it also antagonizes the believers who believe that God, A. Does not need to be proven and B. Cannot be proven due to the "mysteries" surrounding him/ due to the nature of the concept(that God transcends human understanding and knowledge).

Well! Yes! God exists. One cannot prove His existence through reason cos man is just a part of the huge creation. So, being part of the creation, one should understand that our knowledge also limited and with reasoning it is impossible to prove His existence.

What do u think..all that you see around you , the Universe, the Solar System, etc for that matter even ur own body and the functions of the same happen or happened just like that without the intelligence of a Supreme being( referred to as God)? The more man gets to reason, the more he finds himself lost.

Reason or science for that matter cannot do anything to prove God. One thing is for sure you can experience the presence of God, and all you have to do is just believe in Him

i think it depends on what you mean by reason.

one may tend to believe that the world is too complex to be chance or just a natural event.
but others would use different reasoning and say that indeed this is the case.

scientific method i think is not going to show conclusive evidence. science in and of itself has biases and there will always be room for interpretations.

lets take laws: gravitional, thermodynamic, relavity, mechanics, fluid dynamics, etc.
those laws are considered to be natural and taken for granted. can one prove a divine influence that created these? who knows. one person may think so, another not.

some may consider it more than chance that some plants of the world just happen to medicines that can be used by other creatures to heal as a sign that a divine force deemed it so. another person would say that there are many chemicals in the universe and that these are nothing special.

such things as ghosts or strange paranormal experiences like esp or ball lightning may point to something more supernatural, but can be dubunked.

i guess in the end one can analyze a whole host of phenomena, and either see the hand of God in it, or look at as just a natural occurence.

the more education and money that people have, usually the less apt they are to consider divine influences.

From the standpoint of logic (my brain), I've given up caring if God exists. My brain will never wrap around that one. For the same reason, I've also given up caring if there is life after death. Salvation is no longer a big carrot for me. These attitudes free me up to live my life as a full and fit expression of who I am.

At the same time, I have come to see the "heart" as an organ of knowledge, like a parallel processor to the mind. The heart has its own particular sensitivites and awarenesses, as well as a kind of nonverbal logic. Various things can awaken a consciousness of the heart. Music, poetry, other arts. It is the heart that can experience a sense of inspiration. It is the heart that can experience a sense of connectedness that transcends individuality. It is the heart that has an instinct to find its source. Sometimes I pray, and frankly I am not sure to whom -- but it is the heart that listens.

I do not consider myself a Christian, but I consider the teachings of Jesus as a good way to open the door to heart awareness: humbleness, forgiveness, non-judgemental attitudes, love, etc. Most of the recognized wisdom traditions, when distilled, tend to speak the same language. If your heart has not been used much, the language is hard to hear.

My evidence is a range of sensations that cannot be empirically verified. They are just my experiences, and can be no one else's. I am sufficiently satisfied with my path to stay with it. Are you satisfied with your path, logic and science?

Thank you for your very good question,i will answer it any way i choose. Yes God exists. The facts of evolution & expanding universe prove God is still in the process of Creation. The mind can be convinced that God exist but it can't comprehend the allness of God. one must follow the hearts desire to know God,(faith).receive a saints baptism with spirit attaining a certain wisdom then enter into the heart to experience unity with God in unconditional love. Then with the single eye of unity you can see God in all things. No smoking guns,no pictures of God changing costumes from ordinary man into a caped superGod.. "God dwells within you as you". Wake up,find him in your own Heart. You don't even know what you seek? perhaps you should simply Pray directly to God,Please send me a teacher to show me the truth. He will do so. Love

I believe that I have felt God many times.

Have you ever stopped and really feel the things surrounding you?

Everything happens for a reason and God is not a person, it is around you is the force that generates, is the secret of life, the hidden thought, the sudden strike. Is supreme justice. It is an idea, a feeling.

It is around you and above and below.... haven't you ever noticed?
haven't you ever been on some hellish issue that brings you grief, and then in the last moment, when you feel you are about to break, something beautiful happens and it makes you change your perception of life.

It is love, and light.

And it shall make us bright!!!

Any answer to your question is subjective.... my answer would be is to look at a newborn baby... too perfect to have been an accident, to complicated to have evolved, and to beautiful to have come from anywhere but God.... I have just proved the existence of God. Is it an answer you will accept? Probably not! But because I have complete certainty in his existence I don't need you to agree... sounds reasonable to me !

I would suggest that you read allof the philosophers, religious and secular, and then read Bertram Russell's History of Philosophy and weigh all of that. God's existence cannot be proved, it is purely up to you to decide on where he does or not, but as Voltaire said, "if there were not a God, man would invent one."

Please read my words carefully:
If you see footmark in the sand, you'll say that someone passed from here...
If you see a piece of dog sh*t on the ground, you'll say that a dog passed from here...
So what about the enormous universe, the sky, stars, planets, earth and all the beauty in it, doesn't it lead to that someone made it?!!!

Some people say that everything is created by itself after the big-bang... I won't ask you about what caused the big-bang, but I'll ask you a simple question:
If you take all the letters of the alphabet, multiples of them, and you threw them randomly on the floor. Do you expect (by a chance of one in infinity) to get a poem like shakespear's??!!

Can't you see how organized our universe is, the planets, the eco-system on earth, look even in your own body... Can you control your heart-beat? Can you control your breath while you're sleeping? Who stopped your eye-lashes from growing after reaching a certain length? Who told the baby turtles to move towards the sea and not to the earth after they come out of their eggs? Who taught the bird how to make nests?

My friend, think with your heart and brain. If you're still lost, think about the following:

Do you know how to play safe?
Your point:
If there's no God and you do all what you want in life, then nothing will happen to you after life. But if there was God and you were mistaken, then you'll blame yourself FOREVER...

Believer's point:
If there's God and I followed His commands in life, then I'll be in Heaven after life FOREVER. But if there was no God and we're mistaken, then nothing bad will happen to us after life...

Now you know how to play-safe, in case you're not convinced?
