I have a '85 Mazda RX-7 with a Chevy Vortec 355cid,440HP,478 Ft.LBS of torque, '86 Trans-Am 5spd manual,4.07 Posi. and Chrome Side Pipes, Harwood 8 1/2" Aero scoop. It now has a Performer RPM Intake and a Holley 750 Double Pumper #4779. I want to run (2) 4's on a Tunnel Ram. I don't know who makes one for a carborated Vortec engine. All I can find is for EFI.

Check summit, jegs, edlebrock. I'm pretty sure edlebrock makes one. I have one on my 72 firebird but it's not a vortec. You might also call chevrolet tech support to see if you can use the efi on the vortec... i don't think it would hurt anything but check with them to be sure. The number is1-800-222-1020. Good luck to ya.

If the gasket is leaking around a water (anti-freeze) passage, it can end up in the oil, or leak externally. But head gasket leaks and cracked engine blocks or cylinder heads can too. Other types of Intake Manifold leaks can let extra air into the engine, and throw off the air-fuel ratio, or can leak oil out of the engine, especially at the front or rear of the engine. Intake Manifold leaks are not at all uncommon. Cracked blocks and heads are much less likely, assuming your Anti-Freeze was strong enough to resist freezing because of low temperatures. Head gasket would most likely cause performance problems, as it tends to get in the cylinders and make the engine run poorly when that happens.

Have you tried Summit racing, Jegs, or even Edelbrock? Have a fun day.
