Most of the hijackers were Saudia Arabian. But the myth is that Bin Laden was behind the attacks. Visit the FBI link below. You will see that he is not wanted for 9/11. Why? Perhaps they do not have enough evidence. They do, however, want him for the embassy bombing of 1998.
But at the heart of your question, we must ask, why us? To say it is because they are jealous of our freedoms is silly. You don't have islamic terrorists crashing planes in Sweeden or Canada, two very free countries.
There is evidence that suggests the US was planning an attack on Afghanistan in summer of 2001. Perhaps the reason why were attacked was because it was their own pre-eminent strike on us.
Bin Laden was trained by the US. Saddam Hussein was armed by the US. Some terrorists we have created outright. Others we create by defualt. No one is born a terrorist. Like anything else, it is behavior that is taught or learned.

You are all wrong. The answer is simple. Look at what your country has taken from the rest of us in the world and look at what you have not given.
All your governments ever do is rape, plunder and destroy other countries, especially those with divergent political views.
Nonetheless this did not and does not make 9/11 right.
9/11 was murder on a massive scale for your country as was Bali for mine.

It's like this. Because America is the rich, handsome star of the football team, the Homecoming King, and the most popular guy in school. Some people look at this with admiration and as a model for what they would like to become someday.
Some people look at him with jealousy and say "I hate him, I have always hated him, and oh yeah, he just f'd my girlfriend".

We are the most affluent country in the world... people are bound to hate us. Of course, it could be that Bushitler and his corrupt government devised 9/11 so that we could invade Iraq for oil. If anything, we should send that jackoff to the frontlines and see how HE likes dying for fuel, pride, and acute "patriotism."

Trying to understand the insanity behind the attacks is not productive I think. Knowing it can happen is enough for me. The madmen that pulled it off were obviously angry at the US for some reason. What that reason is, I don't care. It died with them.
