Have any of you women skip dosages of clomid when you was suppose to be taking it to help conceive because of the cost of the medicine is expensive?
I am prescribed medroxyprogesterone, metformin and clomid to help my chances of conceiving with the income we both bring in from our jobs(Yes,we do work) it is impossible to be taking the medications faitfully and the insurance does not cover these medicines.
Does it affect your chances of not becoming pregnant or have missed cycles if you skip?
My doctor is out of town and I will not be able to contact him until the end of Nov.
Help Please!!

I totally agree with you because the medications are super expensive!! But I wonder why you are taking Metformin because one of my doctors prescribed it to me and when I changed doctors I was told that Metformin is a form of insuln and shouldn't be taken. Well either way check into that. But of all the medications I think you should try to purchase the clomid instead. Are you regular in your menstrals? If not, then just purchase the provera(medroxyprogesterone) and hopefully you can ovulate by yourself. If your menstrals are regular then just purchase the clomid (When is mainly for ovulation). Well my dear I understand COMPLETELY you want a child and don't worry because you will have one. I think that you might need to actually see what your main problem is and just purchase the medication that best suits your needs. In my case I am not ovulating so the clomid is what they gave me. Also, my menstrals are SUPER irregular so thats is why I am taking the medroxyprogesterone. But you are 100% right the medication is expensive. Have you tried getting the generics? Good Luck!!!
Don't worry you will be able to have a baby....Have Faith!!!

If I remember correctly from my fertility treatment days (almost 10 years ago) I had to take the medication (shots) regularly. Not doing that could cause failure of the whole treatment and wasting all the money you've spent so far. I know how expensive these meds are...After I wrote a check for them at the grocery pharmacy, I had to have my grocery checks approved by a manager for two months afterwards!

Good luck with your fertility treatment! Mine didn't work, but I got pregnant the customary way two months after the IVF failure. Go figure!

Yes it can have a negative effect. If you cannot afford the meds, you may want to think about whether or not you can afford to raise a child
