The black community has a different standard of beauty that most other people in our country. Curvacous and soft is what we prefer. A woman who looks 13 with shaved pubes is a bit disgusting to us where it would turn a white guy on. Most black guys like "mature" figured women and even some overweight because it is adding to what is already good. Black men like curves but white men seem to like thier women linear which is OK.. I guess but just not our preference. Some men like REALLY big girls. Good for the big girls. A woman has more than one type of beauty. In come countries women scar thier skin all over in designs to make the men go crazy, in the middle east women think thier hands look ugly so they decorare them with henna ink to beautify them but it is all about culture.
For example a 113lb, 5'5" blond white woman would be the object of every white/mexican/asian mans dream.
A 113lb, 5' 5" black woman in a blonde wig we would consider her confused, sick and most likely has a white boyfriend.
A 165lb, 5'5" white woman with small boobs and a big butt would be ridiculed mercilessly by white america, maybe until she takes a handfull of sleeping pills.
A 165lb, 5'5" black woman would be considered close to average but would get so much attention from men should could hardly go about her day. Her curves are what are important to us.
You also have to take in account that Blacks have a higher muscular density than most people and that may add 10-20 lbs to that persons weight so they look like they are 155lbs but they weigh 165 or 170 not that we cared what they weighed anyway

Can't believe how the question provoked me because I'm not a black woman nor a fat one. Well, here goes:
Because they believe in themselves, they have high confidence and they are happy with the person they are under the 'fat' facade. They are the ones people should look up to, because they'd rather go out and live life the way it's supposed to be lived than asking questions like why black women think they look good overweight.
Beauty comes from within. If you are happy, no matter what race you are or how you look, you'll be beautiful. As for health matters, it's a personal choice to be thin or fat... therefore none of us should be bothered. That's what I think.

The science people who think that humans originated from black people are the same ones who thinks that humans came from monkeys.I think humans are made in the image of God and I don't think people should assume that eve is black. Now I'm hearing black people saying that God is black lol which is racist and dumb. The bible doesn't even mention eve's color.Science people have their own theory and they could lie too.I have watch shows where scientist have lied.Later In the bible they mention people who have kids of different skin complexions but they never said this dark skin person is black or whatever. The term black race(not black skin color) only came in recently........ Fasterma...What is that suppose to mean?.Ha I don't think Jesus is white like you do! or maybe your a black person pretending to be white.

Most of the black women, that are overweight, are confident in the way they are. If you are confident, it doesn't matter what others say or think. White women feel that they have to live up to the "model" standards. Society pressure. Everybody should just be happy with who they are, for that is what God wants.

good, honest question.
I too, have noticed that it seems black women with some weight on them, have more confidance than overweight women of other races. They seem to embrace it. I know of some African countries that wrap tons and tons of fabric around their hips and butt to give the illusion of it being larger to attract men. Before they marry, they go on a diet of buttermilk and pig fat I think..anyway, its to literally fatten them up so they really get that big booty before marriage.

I'm an overweight white woman, and I do not think that being overweight makes anyone look good. Whether you are black, white, asian, mexican, arab..it don't matter. Fat is ugly! Just because someone is fat does not make them an ugly person, but fat is ugly. Fat is not accepted in society, and never has been accepted.
Being overweight by more than 20 pounds is unhealthy and can lead to numerous medical problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, iritable bowel syndrome, acne, etc, etc. The list goes on and on.
So, in conclusion, black women do not look good fat, and neither does any other race or colour.
Lets all get together and lets all be the Biggest Losers and get healthy, yall !!

It's all relative to the individual.
It's called confidence, and if a man doesn't like the way a confident woman looks, it's a loss to him!! There's always another man out there who thinks they look good!!
I'm white, and not skinny-mini. I KNOW a whole bunch of men like the booty and breasts of a meatier gal, and don't have to settle for a man who doesn't appreciate me!

know idea.
praps it's just a question of gluttony, but no 1 race has a monopoly on that.
fat people have more health problems, die younger and put a huge strain on health-care services.
i wish being slim would come back in 2 fashion, soon.
i'm beginning 2 feel like an alien here in the UK, i'm surrounded by the obese.
white, brown, black and sadly i did c a fat Chinese woman yesterday, i was shocked.

It's not really just 'black people', you know, it's the super-confident people, which can come in any colour, race or creed. There are equal amounts of any colour person in the world that is uncomfortable and shy about their weight, as well of those that are big, beautiful and proud.
