when i was a lad we hung out at the local recruitment center, waiting to volunteer for wars.

Before I could drive it was the skating rink. After I got my license and car, it was dragging main street and pulling over at the school to talk in groups. What a great life we had!!!

In my early teenage years there was a Bob's big boy which was like the original Sonic. Kids would drive in circles thru it, down the street and back again. Later we moved to the mountains and the "swimming hole" and the football games were the place to hang. My kids still hang out at the same swimming hole and the same HS football games, but they have the most fun at the youth activities of our church.

The school at the end of the block we lived on, or at the park playing baseball or basketball, or football. During the summer the pool was a good place. Sometimes after schoo my brother and I and a few others would go to our church and play basketball inside for a couple of hours.

We chilled it in the park. In high school we started having movie nights at our friend's house. Forget theaters (too expensive) everyone would bring something to eat and drink and we'd hang out till morning.

We'd drive around, hang out in parking lots and Walmarts were also a place to goof off in because there's nothing else to do around here.

I hung out at the local A&W Root Beer drive-in. Where I live now, teens hang out at the Sonic Drive-In and the nearby pizza joint.

There are not many places to go in a small town, so we hung out at someone's house or parking lot somewhere.

lately for the past 3 weeks the "cool" hang out is the underground rock shows my town has. before that it was the lame mall or houses.
