There is still quite a difference between our two countries, and I'd say vive le difference. Of course, our good institutions like medicare are being undermined by corporate U.S., and I'm sad to say we have lots of traitors in our government who set their policies in tune with U.S. government. We lost a lot of our sovereignty when a former conservative PM integrated us a lot into the American economy, and the present conservative government is continuing this path. For example, we are now becoming associated with deservedly hated American foreign policy and losing our reputation of being fair and peace keepers.

No. There are many things in Canada that are different than the US. First we don't go invading other countries. We don't act like were the big boss of the world. And we are not self-centered. Anytime I watch american news I see zip all when it comes to news that is happening in Canada. Not only that, we have a better health system. The US doesn't care if your rich or poor. They just want your money. In Canada it all goes by your income. The more you make, the more you have to pay. The less you make, the less you have to pay. And the list goes on. Sorry, I am proud to be Canadian.

No. I know we may look the same but trust me we are very different. On that note why do Americana's think this country is so socialist. I guess they confuse responsible government with socialism. Umm, we have this thing called federalism, it makes us one of the most decentralized countries in the world. The U.S executive has more power than the P.M and his cabinet. Think about it. But I don't want to be a jerk so all you informed Yanks. Thanks.

Funny things about Americans asking these stupid questions. They have no idea how incredibly different our history and government is from theirs. A lot of historians believe that Canada's very formation was a reaction against the US. Funny.

Canada is a separate sovereign state and is even richer than the US as a country. How can it join the US when it is more progressive?

Why? Because countries of Europe joined to create the EU?

We'd have to include Mexico.

Our new acronym for North America: MUSAC

Canada has enough trouble staying together itself. It would be illogical for them to join us.

I think Canada is way richer since they do not have a 3 trillion dollar foreign national debt.

Nah. We've been separate countries for so long, it'd be weird to suddenly be united.
