I have a few cables, I have tried them all and neither seems to be the correct cable. Please help! I am inputting music from my computer to my lap top, using my flash it is taking sooooo long to do that way. By the way a picture would help.
Thanks in advance,

You can use a ethernet cable used for networking, by crimping the RJ45 connectors (the white plastic connector heads) in a crossover connection which is done specially for connecting two computers only. Normal crimping which is used to connect computers in a network through a hub/switch will not work. Your local computer shop should be able to crimp a cable of required length for you. Both of your computers should have a network card to insert the pins. After the cable is in place you can configure a new network connection to identify and create a network connection between the two computers. You can give each computer an ip address for example 192.168.0.2 and 192.168.0.3 and a subnet mask 255.255.255.0

Then enable print and file sharing on each computer.

hope this solve ur problem.

If you want to use cable only:

Install Ethernet Cards properly and configure them.

Install TCP/IP and assign IP addresses.
Give any valid IP address and bind successfully with the NIC.

Get the Cross Over Cable and simply connect both Machines Ethernet cards to each other.

This Cross Over Cable has RJ45 Connector and goes into RJ45 port on both the Ethernet card.

Try pinging One PC from another. Its connected !

So go for RJ45 Cross Over Cable. Thanks
