Well.... There are lots of examples. Surely you know that, from high to low, it goes soprano, alto, tenor and bass-- with women typically singing the higher two voices.

If you want examples, I'm assuming you're not familiar, and therefore popular references might be best, though usually only opera singers are categorized this way. So-- I'll also give you a famous opera singer as an example.

Soprano-- Mariah Carey, Maria Callas.

Mezzosoprano-- there's a space here too for a medium voice-- perhaps Bett Midler. Judith Forst.

Alto-- Oleta Adams or Mahalia Jackson. Also, in opera Marian Anderson

Tenor-- Jeff Buckley for pop/rock, Pavarotti, et al for classical

Bass-- Sad to say, but Randy Travis is probably the best pop-culture example of that I can think of. Ezio Pinza is a famous old clasical Italian Bass singer.

In music, a tenor is a male singer with a high vocal range. As an adjective, the term also describes the generally equivalent tonal register, as in the tenor clef or the tenor saxophone.

A bass (or basso in Italian) is a male singer who sings in the lowest vocal range of the human voice. A typical bass has a range extending from around the F below the bottom of the bass clef to the E above middle C (i.e. F2-E4). [1] Bass is also used to refer to a low speaking voice. It should be mentioned that "bass" as a choral distinction, not a solo classification, can be expected to commonly sing as low as D, nearly two octaves below middle C. It is also common for men who are classified as "basses" (and have a full bass choral range) to have a speaking voice which may sound much higher than would otherwise be expected. Most seasoned basses also can train a very versatile falsetto making their usefulness in a choral arrangement even more welcome.

In music, an alto or contralto is a singer with a vocal range somewhere between a tenor and a mezzo-soprano. The term is used to refer to the lowest female singing voice, or one of the highest male voices. A typical alto will have a range from around the F below middle C to the E a tenth above middle C (i.e. F3-E5); at the bottom of their range, altos sound almost like tenors. Some altos have even larger ranges; from the C below middle C to the C two octaves above (C3-C6 if middle C is C4). In four part choral harmony, the alto is the second highest voice. Altos originally sang from music written in the alto clef, but now use the treble clef.

In music, a soprano is a singer with a voice that ranges from, approximately, the A below middle C to "high C", two octaves above middle C (i.e. A3-C6). Rarely, a soprano will be able to reach higher octaves. In four part chorale style harmony, the soprano takes the highest part, which usually encompasses the melody.

The word "soprano" generally refers to a female singer of this highest vocal range and to her voice. Male singers whose voices have not yet changed are known either as "boy sopranos" or, in the Anglican and Roman Catholic traditions, as trebles.
