If OSU and Michigan were to play again for the National Championship, would the Big Ten's Rose Bowl berth then pass to 11-1 Wisconsin? Why or why not? Furthermore, if Michigan were to beat Ohio St. in this hypothetical rematch, what are the chances of a split national championship?

As far as Wisconsin getting to the Rose Bowl, it is not possible because a conference can only have 2 teams in the BCS. I'm not sure what they would do if Michigan were to beat OSU in the champioship game, but i don't think we'll have to worry about that.

This is something we have all been pondering in our neck of the woods. After an 11-1, record-breaking season, the Badgers deserve to have a main BCS bowl. It also helps that they are now ranked 8th.

There is nothing more that I want than to see Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. But, in theory, there is only one way that can happen: if Michigan gets into the title game. Because if Michigan is NOT in the title game, then they will be in the Rose Bowl.

Here's my train of thought. The Championship game is BCS #1 & BCS #2. The Rose Bowl is Big Ten vs Pac-10. If both Ohio State and Michigan (both Big Ten teams) are in the championship, the next highest Big Ten team is Wisconsin. So, if the championship is a rematch of last Sunday's game, then Wisconsin should get the Rose Bowl, right?

Now, if Michigan doesn't get in there, then we are just spinning our wheels!

Thoughts? I hope other Wisconsin fans are thinking along the same lines.... maybe I am being too optimistic. Most every source I have seen shows Wisconsin going to the Capital One bowl. Which, don't get me wrong, is a big honor! But, the Rose Bowl is an even bigger one.

As noted, only two teams from each conference can get BCS bids. In addition, the Rose Bowl is not required to pick a Big Ten team even now, as the Big Ten champ is going to the title game. So, if Michigan does not go to the title game, there is no guarantee that they will go to Pasadena. The Rose Bowl might get the first two picks of any available team they want, if USC goes to the title game as well.

It'd be kind of wild to see West Virginia end up in Pasadena.

Yeah only two teams from a conference can have BSC births. The Rose Bowl would have the winner of the Pac-10 and I guess some at large team from the Big 12.

You are just scared that Michigan will beat you on a neutral field making them the better team. The only thing that OSU has proven is they can beat Michigan by 3 at home. Anyways, I am pretty sure that OSU versus any other team would be a boring game b/c OSU would blow them out.

No, the Rose Bowl committee would pick a new team to be in it.
