basically a 360 game vs a ps3 game, but both have similarities.

i think both have their strengths... they are similar visually but the gameplay is completely different. resistance plays more like half life 2 (except more diffucult) and GoW plays more like RE4 (except more combat focused). I give them about a tie because they are very different games with about the only similaritys being the art styles and that they are currently the killer app's for their respective consoles.

I would definitely say Gears of War is better. I'm partial to 360 over PS anyway, but besides that, it's everything it was hyped up to be. And the co-op campaign is unbelievably awesome. PS isn't know for their First Person Shooters... (I know GoW isn't really FPS)...And Xbox has all the good ones.(FEAR, Halo, GoW) I think Xbox wins this one.

I just recently purchased gears of war and let me say your getting everything when you get this game. If you dont like online play, the story is so perfect i sometimes think its better then online. But online is the big thing on GOW so your better choice would be GOW

i think the story line is better on GEARS OF WAR, but RESISTANCE has a better online multiplayer. u can only do 4vs4 on gears of war, but in resistance u can do 20vs20!! is all up to u. example HALO 2, u probably enjoy multiplayer better than story mode so that's why resistance does better. i like both games alot, but i know i wont b getting tired of RESISTANCE
