You know, after it's been embalmed, you've had the funeral and it's been put in the casket laid to rest in the dirt, how long does it take until it starts to decay? And what happens to your eyes and tongue and stuff like that?

not so sure about the amount of time it takes for you to decompose. i guess it has alot to do with where you are buried (temperarure and weather wise) and in what type of casket. ive heard that things like hair and finger nails continue to grow after you are dead...im guessing your eyes and tongue dry out and eventually whither away.

Once embalmed there is no standard for decomposition. It depends on what the body is embalmed with, and how well it is done. Lenin died in 1924 and is still on display and hasn't decomposed at all. Others may begin to decay within a matter of weeks or months.
