Manohar,

I guess you are in frustration. Take away the feelings of degree and diploma barrier that exists only on books. I have seen diploma holders holding the Manager's position and Degree holders working under them.

The creation of Diploma course was intended for a supervisory position. The Dips will supervise the technicians and interpret the results to the Degs. Remember, routine jobs are well handled by Dips than Degs. The Degs are usually assigned to do the managerial job. Ask a Deg who is experienced about 10 yrs on the equations or formula. They may not know, rather they will answer you how effectively he can keep his foreman in his good books.

Dip is a step for some one to get a quick employment. Who stops a Dip to go for further studies? I have seen dips are outperforming the Degs once they have their part time Deg completed.

By the way, I am a Master Deg in Engg. But I love Dips. They are sincere and devoted to the jobs. They do not jump to another job just for a meagre increment. The Dips are well contended in life.

Look at the opportunities for Dips compared to Deg holders. Now the number of Deg holders are more and they do not get the job of a Dip.

By the way, if you are distressed further, I can offer you job in Chennai in my company. You will need to write to me at Sales@LloydPureWater.Com

Cheers and Good Luck Manohar!

Usually the diploma course is a shorter/faster course than the graduate one. so you start working sooner from the diploma course but haven't learned as much as the grads so you start at a lower level in the job. If you have a good employer you can then finish the graduate course part time while working and end up on the higher rate of pay.

I'm guessing by "diploma holder" you mean G.E.D...I dunno...this world is messed up...people are judged by words rather than actions...it's almost a twist of fate that can land you in a career sometimes...other times its because someone took classes rather than the janitor or whoever that has worked for the company for 10 years already and knows how everything works at the business inside and out

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. Probably because those who graduated got up in the morning..went to school....managed to do their homework....otherwise acted as a normal citizen....and therefore demonstrated to someone who has invested wealth and reputation in a business that they have resolve and the will to be a good employee....
