Football is a team game. If a team wins or loses it is all due to the effort of the team, and not an individual player.

The only way one player can influence a losing game is to lose on purpose, which is match-fixing. Which is illegal.

The team wins, the team loses. One player's mistake doesn't make a team win or lose.

If the goal keeper lets a shot get by, is it his or her fault? . . . of course not: there were 11 other people with the opportunity to prevent that goal.

If a striker misses a shot, does he lose the game? . . . of course not! It's a team game. Blaming one player for a loss is poor sportsmanship and counters the whole idea of what a team represents.

It might not be fair, but that sometimes happens in teams sports. If the person tried their best, and made a mistake, its the teams job to support them and not turn against them for the loss.

All players make mistakes-even the best ones do. It is just the ones at the end of the game that are noticed the most.

No. They should count the lose only against that player and give the team the points as if they won. Thank you for a very intelligent and profound question. It amazed me!.

Do you think it's fair that a team wins because of one player?

of course it's fair.
if it's a team sport, then the player is part of the team.

therefore ultimately, you can look at it as the team making a mistake contributing to its loss.
