If you haven't experienced the DS you don't know what your missing. The DS is a little more graphically enhanced and games look better. The main reason for getting a DS is for the touch screen. Games like Metroid Prime you use the touch screen to control the game, which is fantastic. The possibilities of the touch screen open up to so many different possibilities for future games. Another reason to get a DS is that if you have a lot of Game Boy Advanced games, it can play ALL of your GBA games in addition to new DS Games. If you want more information about DS i suggest to go to nintendo.com and check it out there before you buy. Hope that helps.

The DS "Lite" is a much brighter screen. My wife and I both have a DS Lite and really love them. It has a slot for the GBA games too, so you can play your old games on a brighter screen. The touch screen makes for added dimension in the gaming experience. But I think the best feature is the wireless play between two DS units. Bomberman for instance is a "blast" to play wirelessly. Another great thing about the DS is that most of the wireless 2-player games require that only one player needs a game cartridge. Personally, I bought my DS just so I could play Brain Age! That game alone makes the DS worth buying!

My main reason: The auto-lighting it does with both screens. I can't tell you how many times I couldn't play my GBA because it was dark.
