Is there some kind of volume control software for the iPod and will it work for all the iPods?

my teenaged nephew wants an ipod for xmas and we're worried about his playing at too high a volume.

The iPod has a volume limiter setting. Set what you want to be the highest volume, and then set the combination for the lock so only the person with the combination can change the max setting.
