i know its bad if you become addicted to them, but if you only take one once and your not constipated, how bad can it screw up your stomach?

I would not recommend taking laxatives unless a last resort for constipation. Laxatives leech the body of essential electrolytes such as potassium. When your body is potassium deficient, called hypokalemia (commonly seen in anorexics), symptoms include muscle weakness and myalgia, increased risk of hypoatremia (possible confusion and seizures), palpitations of the heart (ectopy to arrhythmias), nervous shaking, excessive sweating, and increased sensitivity of the nerves to the cold.
Other potential problems include intestinal paralysis, IBS and pancreatis (inflammed pancreas).
If you only take it once, chances are you won't be too screwed up. But, what is your motivation to try them? Do you really want diarrhea? What's the point it that? It won't affect your stomach at all. Laxatives work on the intestines. They can work by many different mechanisms based on the type.
Serious, though, think of the possible side effects. Don't use them for fun.

If you only took it once, its not likely to do you harm...at most you will have some diarrhoe(which should not last for more than a day). However, taking them long term may cause whats called 'the lazy gut syndrome'. The gastrointestinal track is so use to the laxative it refuses to work without it...you just cant pass motion without taking the laxative! Now thts a total bummer!

That is a bad idea. A lax. is used to fully cleanse the system before a certain procedure or if you are truly constipated.

I think the better question is why are you taking them if you dont need to? To answer your question I am not sure if taking them once can be addictive but if you continue especially if you dont need them eventually you will need them to be able to have a bowl movement.

why the f* would you?
It stops your body absorbing whatever it is you ate - ie you get no nutrients from your meal, you'll have a harder time controlling your bowel and you'll generally feel like crap.
If you want to flush your system, eat fruit for a weekend or have an enema for pete's sake.
It can't kill you, but you can become dehydrated and suffer from the effects of nutrient loss. If you just want to see what it's like - go ahead, but be prepared for diarrhoea - lots of it.

Never take a laxative unless you need one. It's just not healthy, period.

its a form of anorexia nervosa/ bulimia nervosa... its not healthy and it slows down your metabolism as well as tells your intestines that you dont need as much fluid as you really do and it will cause more constipation
