Obviously it has disturbed you or you wouldn't still be dwelling on it over all these years--see a psychologist and discuss your feelings regarding these events- you need to get past what happened or almost happened, to get on with your life-- good luck to you

I'm just glad they caught him in time. It is perfectly normal to have an impact left on you about that and other things as well, like if you had broken an arm or your favorite pet died. There's no way to erase the past, but in view of the fact you were rescued in time, you can be thankful it wasn't worse or you would have more to overcome. Look forward to the future and try not to let this thing that cannot be undone dominate you to the extent you cannot live a full and happy life.

The impact is impossible to quantify without a lot of discussion from a professional...self diagnosis with something as potentially troubling as this can be dangerous. You are the only one who knows about what drives you, and what might be compelling you to make certain choices, but a professional therapist might be able to help you get to the root. Sometimes we block out things that are unpleasant, so to unlock them we need guidance. For you to ask for help is a big and important step. To get to the real answer for the question you are REALLY asking, you should take that next step and call a professional. Good luck.

This is an absurd question to ask random people. If you really care, go to an actual psychologist... don't be cheap. Just stop thinking about it. If nothing happened, then forget it. Move on with life or else you're going to stay in that place forever.

It sounds like you a have a vivid memory of the incident. You need to ask yourself how you feel about it. It probably wouldn't hurt to get some counseling.

PS: As a father of two, I hope your dad and uncle took real good care of it.
