i just watched it on dvd..and it was so good!
but it was sad when hector died, and then Achilles at the end. so he really loved prius (sp?).
Achilles put on this tough guy front but he was open to love (brotherly love [cousin], passionate love, etc)
what did you think of it when you saw it?

They read us all about Troy in high school. To see it in a movie was great but if I was Hector I would have given Paris a royal beat down. All those people died because he was screwing around with somebody else's wife. And they told us in school that the trojan war lasted like 10-12 years so when the greeks finally got inside they killed (or raped and killed) everyone in the city. Also if I were Hectors wife I would have thrown Helen off the wall of the city right after Achilles killed him. But Brad Pitt was a prefect Achilles

I enjoyed the movie... the one-on-one battle scenes were exciting though somewhat over the top. As an accurate portrayal of 'The Iliad'... it doesn't live up to the original Homeric epic.

I saw the original Troy movies back in the 50's, it was a lovely movie and I am sure the more recent one is too.

I thought it was pretty good for an action movie: good battle sequences, suspense, etc. But as an accurate retelling of the events of Troy, it falls short.
