well it all depends on how much pain tolerance you have... tattoos hurt more than piercings. But the tat pain depends all on where you get one. Ankle isn't so bad. The imp question is: do you want to look at that tat when ur old and wrinkley? :P

I've had my belly button pierced and won't do it again. It hurt slightly getting it done but the time of healing was worse. Every slight touch hurt. Getting my eyebrow didn't hurt though and neither did my tongue. I had an industrial piercing through my ear, the top hole didn't hurt but the bottom hole hurt like crazy. Then the healing process was crazy because I couldn't lay on the right side of my head forever. I have 3 tattoos. I rather large lower back piece that relaxed me nearly to sleep. Same with the one on my shoulder blade. The one on my right ankle though hurt massively. It hurt bad enough that I couldn't stand the pain to get it finished

Anything that pokes holes in your skin is going to hurt, so they'll both hurt. A belly-button piercing will probably continue to be irritated longer than the tattoo, partly because there's a foreign object imbedded in it and because most outfits will rub against it.
Make sure that you are absolutely certain about the design for the tattoo - the piercing can be removed, but that tattoo is on for life, and it'll be visible to everyone unless you have socks or long pants on. You don't want to put your boyfriend's name on there, for example, and then break up with him and get reminded of him every day.

Yes, they both hurt, but it depends on your definition of pain. The belly piercing will hurt to get pierced and it will hurt the whole time you are healing. You won't be able to sleep on your stomach comfortably for some time and trust me when I say that people will bump into your stomach ALL THE TIME!!
The tattoo will definitely hurt. Anytime you get a tattoo on a bone, it is going to hurt. The pain hurts while you are getting it and a little afterwards, but will heal much quicker than the piercing...However, the pain of getting one lasts longer than the pain of getting the piercing.
I have had my belly button pierced twice, my tongue has been pierced twice, the hood of my clit has been pierced and I have a tattoo. They all hurt. The piercings hurt longer because they take longer to heal. Hope this helped you.
I'm a sucker for pain.

HOney.....you are probably very sexy...girls who want tattoos and piercings usually are. I f I can have any influence on you...don't do it.
Who give a **** about what other people think....if you are sexy like i think you are...you will be a hot item. I know it will be in a place where no one will notice....but they do..becaause your first tattoos are just the beginning. if you can just have a piercing and just one tattoo, that's no big deal. but it leads to many tattoos and piercings.

It hurts and it could get infected. There is also the danger of Hep C, HIV, even AIDs. People are trying to get them removed now. They're so 90's.
