Though I don't blame myself for the abuse he put me through,
I have still always felt ashamed that I didn't see the signs clearly when I met my ex-husband. Had I been able to see them more clearly, I wouldn't have had to suffer through the mental and physical abuse he put me through during our marriage.

I was really mad at my dad once and I said some really mean and hurtful stuff to make him feel bad and I made him cry. I apologized profusely, but I still feel bad about that and it's been over 20 years since then.
