Why don't they produce singles on the smaller sized disk?

it just seems senceless its bound to cost more money for the material and you don't need a full sized cd for just a couple of songs. I know that they don't work in slots but all cd trays take them and slots are very rare.

Why sell the disk at all? Everyone is now trying to mimic Itunes now.
