Since when is Poker a sport? I don't want to watch a bunch of people, whether they are celebrities or not, play poker. If this is what I wanted, I would go to my fat uncles house on Wednesday evening. Who watches this crap? No, stand up and be proud, I want to know who seriously watches this stuff? Some one must, or it would not be on TV.

Maybe it is not a sport, but anything has a right to be televised if the show is being made for television.
I agree that it is not a sport, but we can both agree that we don't make the rules on what can and cannot be televised.
If you don't want to watch it than don't, if I don't want to watch it, I won't. But we can't decide for everyone else what should and should not be on TV. Maybe others enjoy programming such as poker tournaments.
Poker is not a sport. But hey bowling is considered a sport. There is about as much physical activity in poker as in bowling.

This is two questions in a row about Poker. I just want to know, have you recently had a bad experience with the game? Like, did you lose a little too much money on the River Card? Yes, it's not really a sport but it's a game. I'm not defending it, per say, but it can be fun. As far as the TV goes, turn the channel no one is forcing you to watch, are they. If someone is you'd better get new friends.

I love playing poker, and I enjoy watching it on tv. I don't care if it's celebs or not, it's good either way. I will agree that it's not a sport, but so what. Things don't have to be sports to be on tv. And some sports are so boring that they should definitely not be televised. If you don't like it, there are plenty of other channels to watch.

LOCAL NEWS IS NOT A SPORT, and therefor should not be nationally televised, DO YOU AGREE?
Most things on TV aren't a sport. Did you have a point or something?

No... Poker is not a sport.
But I don't understand your reasonning.
Are you one of those people who only watch sports?
And therefore, there should not be anything else on television, but sport?
Don't you have cable television?
Plenty of sports there... 24 hours a day.

As I said in your other question; you have to look at the definition of sport. Of course it also depends on the definition that you read as to what it means.
1 a : to amuse oneself : FROLIC b : to engage in a sport
1.an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.
3.diversion; recreation; pleasant pastime.
11.Informal. a person who is interested in sports as an occasion for gambling; gambler
So in other words it wouldn't be considered sport as in athletic but as in an activity that takes skill. In any case I would never watch poker and the Travel channel needs to stop having 5 hours of it. It's has nothing to with traviling!

Now you're making a point - I'm not into telling people how to live, but poker should not be on ESPN, let's go ahead and have a Casino Channel on cable - that way everybody will be happy.

Nothing to do with sport or not... it shouldn't be televised because it's insanely boring and I'd rather watch the grass grow.
