have the money to do it professionally. I don't want it to look like I cut out the picture, and just placed it on a home-made card. Could I put the picture on, a little piece of scape-book paper. Since I don't know about copyrights and what's acceptable- I'm at a loss. I'm making a little business card for a dog-grooming/walker business. Please help if you have any suggestions.

Actually you can do just that, if you have a digital camera. Cut it out, paste it carefully, then photograph it & either send the file upload to your printer of choice, say Kinko & they'll make your cards, or...

if you want to do this at home & you have a business card program just find the photo you want to add to your bus card program when starting a new b-card project, paste it add text & thats that. Yes I know it will take a few dry runs to get everything just the way you want it.

As long as the dog you are using isn't a famous dog, recognizable by its face you'll be ok copyright-wise. It's a local neighborhood deal. Or there are tons of free gifs out there. Just make sure they are public domain.

Otherwise a stamp kit (of a dog silhoutte) with pre-cut/serrated cards on full 8.5x11" sheets will work, then draft a b-card format with Co name, your name & phone# & place next to stamp or photo.

find a pictures of a dogs and then draw them as long as you change it by about 15% you should be safe. ( I was told 10% but 15% to be on the safe side. Or try drawing a dog from the grooming walker business. I would use pencil first, and use cheap paper first and then better quality. Maybe place more then one dog on the card. I would try a few different designs and decided on one. Try the scape paper if you like I not sure.

You could scan the picture into your computer, and resize it to the size you want. Then download some software for making business cards. You can probably find a way to insert the pic into the card format. It may say something like "add your own graphics" ProVenture is the name of the software I purchased for business cards, but you may already havethe capability in your computer if you have MS Word or a similar program.
