I am a Filipino-American & was in San Francisco, California last year for the Christmas season. I might be with Filipino friends but I really cried that time! It was my first Christmas away from home.
Christmas in the Philippines might not be the best but it usually celebrated differently that Filipinos all over the world as much as possible wants to spend their vacation here during that season.
Christmas songs are usually heard over the radios as early as September. Department stores starts displaying Christmas decorations & products for sale. The streets are also well decorated. Every place has its Christmas motiff usually posted in the electric posts!
Las Pinas City is well known for selling lanterns. I remember seing them way back when I was a child more than 30 years ago. The Las Pinas Bamboo Organ is so famous that tourist buses are seen over the place.
Imus, Cavite has streets with different Christmas decorations. It is even known as the
" Christmas Capital of the Philippines."
Midnight mass starts on December 16 & ends on the 24th. Christmas season ends on the first Sunday of January, usually when The Three Kings is celebrated.
Christmas parties are held by having family reunions, reunions with classmates & friends, corporate parties!
However, one part of it, you really have to spend for gifts especially if you have big families & many godsons/daughters. Christmas is for children!
It is also the time when people gain weight because Filipinos really serve good foods during the season. They also give foods, usually "sweets" as gifts.
I hope you can spend your Christmas here to see it better!

Christmas in the Philippines starts from september (because its the start of "-ber" months)... They have simbang gabi (evening mass or early morning masses) which starts from the 16th of december till christmas... they have puto bung-bong and bibingka outside the church, they're good to eat after the mass and what makes it beautiful is the cold breeze in the morning... a lot of houses has christmas lights, parols and other christmas decors... even malls, play christmas songs that makes shopping upbeat with the season... more family reunions are made during the holidays...

Christmas is the longest and the last season celebrated yearly. As soon as the "ber" month starts, whether you like it or not, eventhough holloween & all Saint's day are to be celebrated ahead of it, Christmas will definitely creep in. Cards, plastic trees, decors will be visible side by side with candles for all Saint's day and scary outfits & decors for holloween. And DJs' have been given the go signal to play Christmas carols. As soon as December arrived, it's official. All those families living in a subdivision/village will have to prepare lots of coins for the carolers, old and young ones. And Dec 16 is the start of our dawn masses until Christmas eve. Food preparations are what make us unique because we tend to take this seriously, poor or not. And this my friend will last would you believe until the next year of Three Kings. Merry Christmas!

Filipinos love feeling happy, and love to celebrate. And one month may be a long time for others but standard for Filipinos. luosechi, September, whoa. My tree was up Dec 3. Most Xmas lights outdoors in our area were lit just this December as well, or at the earliest, the last week of November. And it's stored 1-2 days before school reopens after the Xmas and New Year break.

For me, Philippines has the happiest Christmas ever! On Dec15, we have this "Simbang Gabi" or Misa de Gallo for 10 consecutive nights. Families will go to church together and pray together. There are Christmas carols for children and adults, exchange gifts, noche buena, the christmas trees and lanterns, parties everywhere, family reunion and get together.

i believe Filipinos had their "aguinaldo masses for 9 days before Christmas, they had their "noche buena" but the most meaning of Christmas is just like anywhere in the world, they celebrate it with their loved ones, either on their homes, on resorts or vacations...
